If your family is anything like mine, then everyone always wants to watch a different movie and you spend more time trying to decide then actually watching the movie itself. No matter which movie is finally chosen I still hear “that’s not fair, we watched her movie last time.”
This is why I have made and am sharing with you a movie night printable that is so simple, yet solves the debate in a fun way. On this movie night printable everyone writes down their movie of choice. Then, one movie is drawn each movie night until all of the movies have been watched.
As a result, there will be no less complaining and more movie watching!

What You’ll Need
- Printer
- 8.5 x 11 Printer Paper
- Scissors
- Writing Utensil
- Bowl
Directions
At the bottom of the page you’ll find the movie night printable. Download and print this off. Then, cut out each individual film box. Divide them up so that everyone gets an even number. You may have to throw a few away or set them off to the side.
Now, let everyone write down their top movie choices that they want to watch. It can be helpful to scroll through Disney + or Netflix for ideas. Once everyone has written down their choices, fold each answer in half and stick them all in a bowl.
With this movie night printable, everyone’s movie choices are in the bowl and have the same chances of being drawn.
Now, draw out one movie. Whichever movie is drawn is the movie you’ll watch. Throw away the one that was drawn and keep the rest in the bowl for your next movie night. Keep drawing a movie from the bowl until everyone’s movies have been watched. Once you run out of slips in the bowl repeat the process.
Your kids may feel disappointed if their movie wasn’t drawn but they’ll know that their movie is still in the bowl and will eventually be watched.
Another way you could do it would be to make a movie night schedule. Draw out all of the movie choices and write down the order in which they were drawn. This will be the order in which you watch the movies.
